Winter Hike at Beaver Creek State Park Set for Feb. 9

EAST LIVERPOOL, OH The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will host a winter hike at Beaver Creek State Park (Columbiana County, OH) on February 9 (10 a.m.) The naturalist-led hike will begin at the main parking lot in the park's Pioneer Village, which is located at 12021 Echo Dell Road in East Liverpool.

This moderate hike will lead participants along the Dogwood Trail, which features scenic views of Little Beaver Creek and the surrounding gorge. It will take about two hours.

Participants should prepare for cold weather and wintery conditions. Hikers should dress in warm layers and proper footwear. Ice cleats, hiking sticks, binoculars and cameras are all great additions to a winter hike.

After the hike, the Friends of Beaver Creek will provide visitors a chance to warm up with hot soup and beverages. Donations to defray the cost of refreshments will be accepted.
