Amanda Suffecool, the Director of REALIZE Firearms Awareness Coalition said, "We are pleased to have the VFW Post 1055's support in hosting this educational event. It's not often that we have multiple, somewhat competing businesses, working together in one location. This is not a buy/sell event, but a real opportunity to get various opinions on the value of your items.

Suffecool recalls the beginnings of this event and how it came about. "The event was created due to a comment that was made to our Sunday radio show on WNIR, a recent widow, who was not gun savvy, wanted to know how to get rid of her husband's guns as she was not knowledgeable about firearms and did not really want them in her home. She called a police station local to her and because she did not phrase the question exactly correctly asked if they knew how she could get rid of her/his gun? They told her that she was welcome to come and drop them off. She did, they took them and she was not compensated financially. Had she taken them to a local gun shop, she could have sold them. Had she asked the police how she could legally sell them, she would have gotten a different response. We want to help people know how to phrase the question, and to be informed of their value. "

She went on to say, "firearms are an investment and REALIZE Firearms Awareness Coalition takes its charter seriously in the area of education. We want to help folks in understanding the value of the firearm in your gun safe, closet or the box under the bed. And there is always that old bumper sticker line - 'I sure hope my wife sells my guns for what they are worth, and not what I told her I paid for them.'"

REALIZE Firearms Awareness Coalition offers a series of public education seminars throughout the year (on website in addition to the Eye On the Target Radio show (website which is a weekly show offered on two local stations and 100.1 FM. Amanda and her brother Rob Campbell have been hosting pro-gun shows on since 2010.

The weekly radio offerings are part of the educational segment of REALIZE Firearms Awareness Coalition that works out of Summit and Portage Counties in Ohio.
